In the Heart of the Mountain: An Evening of Mythic Storytelling
Come gather around the fire and drum for an evening of mythic storytelling as late summer tip-toes into autumn. This time, we step into a freshly ripened, homegrown tale born from the soil of Bells Mountain—dreamed up by its lichen-cloaked oaks, babbling brooks, and bellowing bullfrogs.
This story touches the journey we are all on in a world heating up from the fires of confusion, fear, and greed. Does the path go up or down, in or out? Paradoxically, we must take the ascent of spirit and the descent of soul at the very same time. The healing of ourselves and our world are not two different things.
Myth is not a passive performance. It is a living technology that allows us to adventure through a shared dream while awake. The medium of this art form is not in front of us–it is us; the myth unfolds within our own heart-mind. Through imagination, meditation, and storytelling, we enter the inner landscape where the mountain walks, the true dragon dreams, and we might just find a path toward personal and collective redemption.
Story tended to by Satya Hertz, a resident of Bells Mountain, lover of myth, music, and meditation, and facilitator of creativity as spiritual practice.
